Brandeis University is home to the Robert D. Farber University Archives & Special Collections in the town of Waltham. The Archives & Special Collections hold materials relating to Brandeis University as well as other subjects.

Description of Digitized Collections

Two collections were digitized in the fall and winter of 2012. The first collection primarily dates from 1861 to 1865 and consists of around 60 letters from the Michael Lally collection. Michael Lally was an Irish immigrant who fought for the Union in the Civil War.

The second collection dates from 1915 to 2001 and consists of one map, two postcards, and over 200 photographic prints and glass plate negatives from the Middlesex University collection. Middlesex University was a medical and veterinary school on the site that is now Brandeis University.
