Salem State University was founded in 1894 as the Salem Normal School. Located on the North Shore of Massachusetts, Salem State University Library began in 1969 and collects and preserves materials related to Salem, Essex County, and the history of the University.

Description of Digitized Collections

Two collections were digitized in the fall of 2012 and spring of 2013. The first collection includes over 100 course catalogs dating from 1856 to 1960. The second collection includes 230 local and regional maps dating from the 1860s to the early 20th century.
